Read our: Statement of Faith
Mission Statement:
“Turning spiritual seekers into fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ”
Vision Statement:
“We believe it is God’s directive to establish a contemporary, dynamic,
seeker-sensitive church in Sheboygan that will communicate the timeless, life-
changing truths of the Bible, in a culturally relevant way. The church will exist
for the purpose of reaching people who have not given up on God but who
may not be reached by more traditional ministries.”
Core Values:
1. Biblical Authority and Teaching
We value the Bible as God’s authoritative Word in all matters
regarding faith and practice.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the
man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
(2 Timothy 3: 16-17)
2. Prayer
We will be a church that seeks God’s direction by being passionate
and diligent in prayer before our Heavenly Father. This will be a non-
negotiable for us.
“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father
promised, which you have heard Me speak about”…………Then
they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of
Olives……..When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room
where they were staying…….They all joined together constantly
in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus,
and with His brothers. (Acts 1: 4 & 12-14)
3. Evangelism
We will be a church that is intentional about sharing the Gospel with
people who have yet to meet Jesus personally. We are a seeker-
sensitive church that will maintain the balance called for in the Great
Commission by also being intentional about helping believers mature in
their spiritual walks as well.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”
(Luke 19:10)
4. Creative, passionate, God-centered worship arts
Our worship will be designed to honor God first and foremost and yet
we will not be afraid to take “risks” within our worship arts that will
assist us in effectively communicating the Gospel message to seekers.
5. Empowering people to serve
We believe that a key component to spiritual growth involves using
one’s spiritual gift(s) to serve others for the purpose of reaching
people for Christ. Since this is critical to the discipleship process, we
will equip and encourage people to serve based on their gifting.
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these
members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who
are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the
others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
(Romans 12: 4-6)
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another
above yourselves. (Romans 12:10)
The Jethro Principle – Exodus 18:13-26
6. Leadership Development
We will invest in, equip, develop, and empower leaders for the
Kingdom.
If a person’s gift……is leadership, let them govern diligently.
(Romans 12: 6 & 8)
“Everything rises and falls on leadership”
“Leadership is developed, not discovered”
John Maxwell – Developing the Leader Within You
7. Strong Children’s Ministry
This will be an important issue for our ministry focus group and
therefore, it will be a focal point of our ministry efforts. We have
people with a passion for children who are creating and maintaining a
top-notch children’s ministry.
8. Small Group Model of Ministry
We are a church OF reproducing small groups, not a church WITH
small groups. There will be a continuous multiplication of small groups
that meet the real needs of people; the loving and healing power of
fellowship will be experienced in these groups
9. Support of Future Church Plants
Crossroads Community Church will play a significant role in the
planting of additional churches throughout the lakeshore region for the
purposes of reaching more people for Christ.
“The single most effective evangelistic methodology
under heaven is
planting new churches.”
